Bridal Shower For 60
In June, I gave a bridal Shower with some of my friends. I think it was one of the prettiest showers I have ever seen. The mother of the bride was a close friend of all of us and we really wanted to do something as elegant as she is. Her daughter is so sweet and I have watched her grow up and enjoyed her every stage. She even joined my sorority in college, so she has great taste as well. She met a wonderful young man while living and teaching school in Chicago. We were so excited. It seems that everyone's daughters are suddenly getting married this summer! The bride is very feminine and had chosen a pallet of pink and green. Well, loved that, rest assured. We five friends worked super hard and attended to every detail. It was a little crazy as I had to move about three rooms full of furniture into the garage. That sure was a humbling experience; I learned I'm not quite as clean as I thought I was. I think I had enough hair under those sofas to make a fur coat. Ewwww.....

The table is set with pink roses, pink and white hydrangeas, tiny artichokes and ferns. They are set in glass blocks and lines with Hosta leaves from Margy's garden.
Here are Margy and Jane working on the flowers. Both are very talented women; very artsy and fun. They bought all these flowers for about $300.00+. They also bought 24 glass block vases. Then they set up shop in my kitchen and went to work. The results were beautiful.
There were 5 tables in the room to the left and two long tables in the room right behind this one. That was a lot of tables and those tables needed all the flowers! After I took these shots, we added about 150 votives to all these tables. That's beaucoup to you.

This is a table in the room where there were 5 round tables. It was so beautiful in there, but crowded! I was able to use my Anna Weatherley silverware,
which I s-l-o-w-l-y collect on eBay whenever I see a piece, as well as other silverware, of course.
It was so pretty to mix and match everything.
The three pink ombre cakes, waiting to be seen. The ceiling was covered with pink and
white balloons with long dark pink streamers.
We kept the door closed until cake time so it was a surprise.
Decorating the outside is important too, if part of your party is going to be held out of doors. It takes some planning and some praying! See those rain clouds .....well, they came and those Chinese lanterns are made of paper. So up we went, yanking those babies down, faster than you can say paper mache. After it stopper, we hung them again. Haha, I act like I did it. I did not really go up and down the ladders! I just squealed and handed things to the guys and took stuff from them and ran them inside before they turned into paper soup. Ladders and my knees are not friends anymore.
Here are the guests having cocktails and passed appetizers on the terraces as the sun sets.
All the planning is over, the party is going, and it is a beautiful night for
a beautiful bride and her handsome fiance.
The shower is over and it was wonderful!
